Glenelg Baseball Club
The Glenelg Baseball Club was founded in 1931 and has been based at Anderson Reserve within the Adelaide Shores precinct since 1961.
The club’s playing fields and facilities are among the few in South Australia which comply with international standards and are capable of hosting international competitions. It is a dedicated, year-round baseball facility.
There are 3 full size grass diamonds with cutouts, surrounded by 2 metre-high home run fence with permanent backstops. There are 2 fully enclosed netted and powered batting cages and a number of bullpens (pitcher training stations) scattered around the facility. Recent upgrades to the facility make it the standout baseball complex in South Australia.
The Club has 7 senior and 6 junior teams participating in the South Australian Baseball Leagues competition. The Club also runs a school-based T-Ball and Pee-Wee (under 10) program which now has over 500 boys and girls participating on Friday nights and Saturday mornings during the first and fourth school terms.
Since 1970, the club has hosted the annual South Australian Country Championships on the long weekend in October. This event brings over 200 players, officials and their families to the Glenelg area.
