Kate Williams announced as Adelaide Shores' new CEO

On Friday 14 May 2010, West Beach Trust Chairman Bernie Lange announced that Kate Williams has been appointed as Adelaide Shores' new Chief Executive Officer.

Kate has been Adelaide Shores' Commercial Businesses Manager since 2009 and has more than 15 years' experience in the tourism, hospitality and wine industries, including nine years in senior management roles.

After working in the eastern states in roles such as CEO of Tower Estate in the Hunter Valley and General Manager for P & O Australian Resorts, Kate returned to Adelaide in 2007 with her husband to begin her own consulting business and raise their two young children.

The announcement follows the recent departure of Gareth Smith, who was CEO of Adelaide Shores for the past three years and has decided to return to Victoria to be closer to family.

Mr Lange said that the Board's search for a replacement attracted more than 100 applications from interstate and overseas candidates.

"We are extremely happy to have been able to appoint Kate to continue the great work initiated by Gareth," Mr Lange said.
